Andrew is a Senior Consultant within Blackcat Education with responsibility for assisting in the appointment of principals and senior management roles within Education. Andrew has worked in executive recruitment for over 25 years, having graduated with a first class honours in sociology with psychology from Leeds University in the UK and successfully completed a postgraduate diploma in human resource management.
Prior to setting up his own consultancy firm in 1997 Andrew was Group HR Manager for the largest education supplies company in Europe, handling senior appointments at Group Board and Subsidiary Board level. In his capacity as Regional HR Director for a leading international accountancy firm Andrew was asked to define the competency standards required for admission into partnership and was closely involved in the partner assessment & development programmes.
In addition he was instrumental in designing & delivering bespoke assessment centres utilising psychometric and personality profiling tools. He has worked extensively with individuals aspiring for career advancement and has been instrumental in organising international secondments within the UK, Australasia, Europe, USA, Caribbean, Africa and the Far East. He has been actively involved in the Institute of Directors, HR Institute of New Zealand, Chamber of Commerce and Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.
